Responsibilities

Develop automated release tools for continuous build and release processes.
Serve as a liaison between application development teams and operational infrastructure teams, integrating the full software development lifecycle.
Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure on AWS, leveraging key services including CloudFormation, IAM, and EKS.
Develop and manage GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and delivery.
Configure, deploy and maintain systems and applications using Ansible.
Implement and manage GitOps workflows to enable infrastructure as code and seamless deployments.
Optimize infrastructure for performance, cost-efficiency, and autoscaling.
Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, ensuring uptime and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and QA, to streamline development pipelines.
Provide technical leadership and guidance on best practices for DevOps and cloud-native solutions.
Automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency through scripting and tooling.
Review application requirements and anticipate system needs to ensure systems' availability and scalability.
Troubleshoot code and assist with the resolution of coding issues.
Coordinate releasing new or revised software systems and monitor performance.
Perform work under minimal supervision and navigate complex problems.
Exemplify comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter.
Provide coaching and/or mentoring to others.
Other duties as assigned.

Required

High School Diploma required. (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
Possess 4-6 years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or a related role
Possess extensive hands-on experience with AWS, including expertise in CloudFormation, IAM, and managing Kubernetes clusters via EKS
Exemplify strong knowledge of GitLab and managing GitLab CI/CD pipelines
Demonstrate proficiency with Ansible for configuration management and automation
Execute strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or Go
Possess experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration with Kubernetes
Demonstrate knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) practices and tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
Exemplify a solid understanding of networking, security, and access control in cloud environments
Excellent analytical skills and an ability to communicate complex issues
Exemplify the ability to multitask and thrive in an agile, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient
Possess proficient verbal and written communication skills, while willing to share and receive information and ideas from all levels of the organization to achieve the desired results
Possess high ethics and conduct business in the most professional manner

Preferred

Familiarity with GitOps workflows (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux)
Experience working on bioinformatics pipelines or similar data processing workflows
Strong understanding of autoscaling strategies for Kubernetes and cloud-native applications
Background in building monitoring and alerting systems using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch
Prior experience in industries such as healthcare, biotechnology, or scientific computing
Design and optimize bioinformatics pipelines in a cloud environment, supporting high-performance computing and large-scale data processing
