Responsibilities

Provides daily operational activities of behavioral health, addiction and recovery treatment services across the full spectrum of care to members, inclusive of mental health and substance abuse services.
Collaborates cross departmentally and conducts briefings and area meetings.
Maintains frequent contact with other managers across the department, such as Care Coordination Manager, Quality Management Coordinator and BH Medical Director.
Leads the BH/ARTS case management team and other clinical associates serving members with BH and SUD to ensure timely, culturally competent, and appropriate delivery of behavioral health, addiction care and support.
Ensures access to behavioral health and substance use services.
Ensures systematic screening for behavioral health & ARTS related disorders by utilizing standardized and evidence-based approaches.
Promotes preventive behavioral health, addiction, and recovery strategies.
Identifies and coordinates assistance for member needs specific to behavioral health & substance use.
Participates in management and program improvement activities with other key staff (including the Care Coordination Manager) for enhanced integration with primary care and coordination of behavioral health services/ARTS and achievement of outcomes.
Works with the BH Medical Director as needed in the development and maintenance of programs and systems.
Collaborates with Clinical Leaders to implement medical policy and population health strategies that advance outcomes for plan members.
Ensures compliance with the addiction principles of care and application of American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) placement criteria for all addiction program development.

Required

Must reside in the Commonwealth of Virginia
An active, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) OR a licensed substance abuse treatment practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia with no disciplinary action; must have the ability to hold licenses in multiple states within the scope of practice.
Minimum eight (8) years of experience in the management of behavioral health programs, behavioral health program and policy development or experience in the provision and supervision of treatment services for mental illness and substance use disorders, specifically clinical experience with addiction treatment of adults or children experiencing substance use problems and disorders.
Five (5) or more years of management/leadership, project lead or subject matter BH/ARTS expert experience.
Experience with the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
This role is considered patient facing and is a part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.
This role is a part of Humana’s Driver Safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver’s license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100,000/300,000/100,000 limits.

Preferred

Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) or Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)
Experience working with members experiencing complex mental health and substance use disorder (SUD).
Experience providing training, mentoring, and educational support to others.
1+ year Care Management experience as a licensed professional and/or oversight of CM programs.
Experience working with the needs of vulnerable populations who have chronic or complex bio-psychosocial needs.
Prior experience with Medicaid recipients including TANF, foster care, and enrollees with special health care needs.
Working knowledge of CMS guidelines.
Experience with MCG and ASAM Criteria.
