Responsibilities
Oversee the creation of compelling customer stories and acts of advocacy that connect with customers emotionally and empower them to learn how GitHub’s solutions can help them reach their business objectives
Manage at-scale storytelling engines to deliver 15-25 stories quarterly in our top markets globally across diverse media formats.
Integrate innovative tools, including AI, into the storytelling process to drive efficiency and creativity.
Ensure customer stories highlight business impact and align with audience needs at every stage of the buyer’s journey.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (PR, Marketing, Revenue, and more) to identify opportunities for amplifying customer evidence.
Build trusted partnerships with some of the world’s best known companies.
Serve as an influential advisor to internal stakeholders, offering strategic insights to align customer evidence with business objectives.
Use data-driven insights to inform and improve storytelling strategies, measuring engagement and business outcomes.
Manage and mentor a high-performing team, fostering growth and collaboration in a global, fast-paced environment.
Establish a culture of innovation and excellence within the team, inspiring creativity and accountability.
Drive team alignment with GitHub’s core values, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all initiatives.
Develop and maintain relationships with trusted external agencies, ensuring they deliver high-impact work on budget and on time.
Oversee the management of budgets, resources, and tools to optimize team efficiency and deliverables.
Define, track, and report on KPIs for customer evidence initiatives, including story production volume, engagement rates, and impact on sales and brand perception.
Regularly assess and optimize processes to improve efficiency and scalability of storytelling efforts.
Ensure timely delivery of content that meets high-quality standards and aligns with GitHub’s brand.

Required
10+ years of experience in customer evidence/marketing, with at least 3 years of direct people management experience + OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field AND 8+ years experience at an agency or with brand marketing, communications, marketing strategy, social media, customer evidence, or related field + OR Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field AND 6+ years experience at an agency or with brand marketing, communications, marketing strategy, social media, customer evidence, or related field o OR equivalent experience.
8+ years experience executing a communications or marketing strategy.
8+ years experience with marketing and campaign management.
8+ years experience working cross-functionally with other teams (e.g., Design, Communications, Revenue, Customer Success, external agencies/internal)
Preferred
8+ years of experience managing projects, including stakeholder management, timelines, and prioritization, with at least 5 years in technology companies (e.g., software or AI).
Proven expertise in storytelling and project management, successfully leading integrated customer evidence campaigns from ideation to execution and evaluation aligned with business objectives.
Experience navigating fast-paced, complex business environments with a global remote workforce, coordinating across functions such as Communications, Revenue, Product, and Customer Engagement.
Insights-driven, with strong knowledge of SaaS Go-to-Market strategies, AI, and communications measurement approaches, including the ability to extract and apply data-driven insights.
