Responsibilities

Drive data engineering efforts, communicate cross-functionally, and be a subject matter expert

Partner with Analytics, Product, and Engineering teams to build out platforms and datasets to enable the business by creating road maps and help prioritize data engineering work

Support the individual and career growth of team members to minimize attrition and maximize output

Become an expert on data sources and ETL flows at Circle

Implement, maintain and optimize data warehouse as well as other tooling

Manage a team data engineers (managers and ICs)

Required

10+ years of industry experience working with large datasets and modern data tools

5+ years of experience with technical leadership and people management

Knowledge of a scientific computing language (Python) and Expert at SQL

Theoretical and applied expertise in database / data warehouse design

Hands-on experience with common software development flows and tools (Linux, git, AWS)

Experience designing and implementing complex modeling solutions from ideation to production at scale

Ability to understand complex business problems and break down analytics projects into a structured approach.

Track record of developing, managing and retaining data engineers.

Experience managing remote teams
