Responsibilities
Establish, oversee, and continuously improve all accounting processes, including but not limited to invoicing, receivables, payables, payroll, and general ledger management
Drive a timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and reconciliation process, ensuring accurate and compliant US GAAP financial statements
Manage and ensure compliance with US GAAP, tax regulations, business registrations, and other financial reporting requirements across the US
Identify and build appropriate internal controls, and continually refine these controls as the business scales
Oversee audit function, coordinating activities with external auditors and other third-party firms as needed
Oversee tax planning and compliance, working with external tax advisors as necessary to ensure accurate and timely filing of returns
Explore, propose, and implement new technology platforms and systems as needed to improve efficiency, visibility, and overall quality of accounting records and financial reporting
Manage cash flow forecasting, considering numerous variables such as multiple lines of business, different revenue models, industry nuances, and more
With support from other strategic and financial resources at Pattern, ultimately own the annual budgeting and planning process. Collaborate across all teams and create alignment on resource and investment allocation with clear plans to achieve revenue and profitability goals
Identify and propose team structure and team additions within the Accounting and Finance function(s), in order to support the business as it scales

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in audit / advisory services at a public accounting firm.
A strong understanding of US GAAP and its application.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
Self-starter with the ability to operate independently 'in the weeds' and collaborate effectively with the broader team.
Strong attention to detail, advanced analytical skills, and pride in ownership of work.
Preferred
CPA preferred.
Leadership experience preferred.
Experience working with software businesses and/or a high-growth environment preferred.
