Responsibilities
Directs the preparation, approval, and execution of the capture plan, schedule, win strategy, and budget associated with business opportunities for an organization.
Influences and collaborates with internal and external team members to identify new business opportunities and produce winning solutions to enable acquisition of new business for the organization and its customers.
Identifies and targets specific agencies for growth opportunities based on past performance and contract placement, establishes leads with and contacts potential customers, and formulates strategies and plans to close on the opportunities.
Develops and provides company awareness and capabilities briefings and attends marketing and business development conferences and seminars.
Formulates, communicates, and implements an integrated capture strategy that provides a clear and defensible justification for selecting a company for an award against the competition.
Provides information for bid and no bid decision making and oversees the process from bid decision to contract award.
Helps develop and foster team relationships with other companies.
Assists in the development of marketing, promotional materials, overall proposal strategy.
Develops and presents capture management reports and briefings.
Identifies capture team and strategic industry partners and assigns capture responsibilities.
Works closely with functional departments to ensure an integrated approach.
Delegates authority and responsibilities to ensure each project works toward the maximum potential.
Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and other practices developed and implemented by upper management.

Required
This position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of fifteen years of relevant Business Development related experience in government, defense and/or aerospace industries.
Must have a proven ability to functionally lead, as well as develop and implement strategic business development initiatives across multiple sites within a decentralized environment.
Demonstrated personal track record of meeting business capture and sales targets.
Proven ability to develop and execute key market strategies, including financial impact analysis.
Strong relationships with relevant customers combined with a rich understanding of customer acquisition processes.
The candidate must also possess strong communications skills (written, verbal and interpersonal).
Must be eligible for DOD, and other governmental agencies security clearances and accesses.
Substantial business development and capture management experience for the federal government and/or international market.
Requires substantial skills in business development, management, mentoring, and supervision.
Demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and ability to maintain positive relationships and composure.
Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and in close collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer, Contract Manager, and technical teams.
