Responsibilities

In partnership with the CIO, President & CEO, and Senior Leadership Team, lead the development and implementation of a robust multi-year fundraising plan with the aim of increasing and diversifying support annually, and in alignment with SAP’s mission, goals, and desire for impact.
Strategically help grow the annual fundraising revenue from $5.5M–$8M to annually $9M–$11M annually over the next three years.
Maintain key, long-term relationships with the active portfolio of funders that includes the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies and the Gates Foundation.
Identify and cultivate relationships with new funders.
Oversee and strengthen fundraising and development operations, including the preparation of briefings, establishment of donor-facing communications and appeals, and the organization of cultivation events.
Explore the potential and viability of an individual giving program.
Manage tracking of pipeline to support meeting the annual revenue goals for the organization.
Work cross-functionally to establish improved knowledge, capacity, efficiency, and effectiveness of prospecting, grant writing, tracking (including current database), and reporting.
Lead the writing and submission of proposals and reports for prospective and current philanthropic partners.
Manage and coach the development manager.
Work with the CIO, CRO, and Chief Program Officers to establish and implement strategies to capitalize on potential growth areas for philanthropic support.
Proactively support the Senior Leadership Team including the CIO, and President & CEO, with donor relations and prospecting opportunities.
Together with the President & CEO, execute SAP’s board fundraising activities and deepen the board’s engagement within the organization.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in communications, finance, and programs to develop and ensure both an ongoing compelling case for support and integrated systems in place.

Required

6+ years of fundraising experience in a non-profit organization of similar size and scope.
Proven success at growing philanthropic revenue within an organization.
Track record of raising funds from foundations at the six-figure level.
Experience working with boards and board engagement.
Data-driven with a deep understanding of pipeline development, and CRM utilization.
Demonstrated success and proficiency in developing clear and persuasive proposals, letters of interest, concept papers, and reports to diverse audiences including foundations and individuals.
Detail-oriented, with excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work on time.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Zoom, and experience with CRM databases and wealth screening tools.
Proven ability to build working relationships with a variety of constituents.
Strong research and analytical skills to identify prospective grant opportunities and develop successful cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship engagement strategies.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally and with a successful track record in writing, presenting, and public speaking.

Preferred

Experience raising funds at the seven-figure level a plus.
Experience working with individual donors a plus.
Experience managing development professionals as well as the ability to oversee and motivate staff in a virtual setting a plus.
