Responsibilities

Develop and implement maintenance plans for properties, equipment, grounds, and assets.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Supervise and train Engineering staff in customer service, SOPs, and safety protocols.
Manage staff schedules and departmental budget.
Assist in financial forecasting and participate in profit/loss reviews.
Implement a preventative maintenance program for hotel equipment.
Oversee inspection and certification of emergency and life safety systems.
Actively participate in energy conservation initiatives.
Address guest and meeting planner feedback promptly.
Ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Administer vendor contracts managed by the engineering department.
Handle room maintenance requests promptly and courteously.
Respond to alarms promptly and determine emergency status.
Support special projects and renovations as needed.
Participate in Highgate Hotel safety programs and committees.

Required

Minimum 3 years of facilities management experience in hospitality or related field; or a 2-year college degree and 1 year of management experience.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Stationary Engineer's license if required by local code.
Proficiency in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations, and general maintenance.
Ability to lift heavy objects and work long hours as needed.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong interpersonal skills with a service-oriented demeanor.
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Maintain confidentiality of information.
Flexibility to attend required meetings and training sessions.
Comply with Highgate Hotel standards and safety regulations.
Problem-solving ability with a proactive approach.

Preferred

Regular attendance as per scheduling needs.
High standards of personal appearance and grooming.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
