Responsibilities
Performing drainage system design of roadway projects for state and local DOTs.
Coordinating design with other disciplines and subconsultants.
Communicating with the project manager on deliverables, schedules, and budgets.
Preparing plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and calculations related to the drainage system and Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plans (ESPCP).
Supporting the Project Manager during Bid Phase and Construction including answering Requests for Information (RFI), preparing addenda and plan revisions.

Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program.
Five (5) to ten (10) years of relevant transportation design experience in Georgia that includes technical knowledge of drainage design with sufficient knowledge of the GDOT Drainage Manual, GDOT Standards, Details, and Specifications, Georgia Stormwater Manual, and the GSWCC Green Book.
Proficiency with HEC RAS, HEC HMS, HY-8, Bentley StormCAD, PondPack, Flowmaster, and CulvertMaster.
Knowledgeable in the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Plan Development Process (PDP), Plan Presentation Guide (PPG), and Electronic Design Guide (EDG).
Good interpersonal skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) proficiency.
Preferred
Previous experience as a consultant working with GDOT and county/municipal clients on transportation projects.
Bentley OpenRoads Designer proficiency.
Thorough understanding of the GDOT Environmental Procedures Manual (EPM), GDOT Utility Accommodation Policy, GDOT ROW acquisition procedures, GDOT Locally Administered Projects (LAP), and GDOT Office of Materials and Testing (OMAT) Geotechnical Manual.
