Responsibilities
Actively target key accounts throughout the region to establish Smalls presence in these strategically vital retailers. Leveraging your pre-exiting relationships with these accounts to gain placement and your business acumen to effectively and efficiently drive sales.
Drive sales targets for your territory. This involves developing and executing sales strategies to increase revenue growth.
Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and other key stakeholders in the pet food supply chain. This includes regular store visits, phone & video calls, and emails to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
Actively seek out new business opportunities by identifying potential customers and partnerships within the territory. This could involve prospecting, cold calling, and networking.
Develop sales forecasts and strategies for the territory based on historical data, market trends, and customer insights to align sales activities with overall company goals.
Performance monitoring. Track and analyze sales performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Product knowledge; posses a deep understanding of the frozen and alternative landscape within the pet industry as well as the company's products to effectively communicate their value.
Support and train distributors and retailers on product features, benefits, and selling techniques. Ensure they have the necessary knowledge and tools to effectively promote and sell Smalls products.
Work closely with the marketing team to execute promotional campaigns, product launches, and other marketing activities within the territory. This may include organizing events, trade shows, and demonstrations.
Monitor market & industry trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to provide insights and recommendations. Regularly report sales results, market conditions, and customer feedback to the wider Smalls team.
Manage budgets related to sales activities, including expenses for travel, sales promotions, and customer engagements.
Address customer issues and resolve complaints promptly and effectively. This requires excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal teams to find solutions.
Ensure all sales and marketing activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.

Required
Valid driver’s license and vehicle
At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
Ability to work on weekends and evenings
Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
Strong communication skills
Ability to build and maintain trust in relationships
Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
Working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with sales reporting systems
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
High attention to detail
Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
Preferred
Experience as a Regional Sales Manager or Sales Director in the East
Experience in the pet industry
Passion for cats and their nutrition
Reside in one of the following states: PA, NY, VT, NH, NJ, MA, ME, DE, MD, WV, CT, RI, VA, DC
