Responsibilities
Meet with clients and collaborate with them to brainstorm and generate content for their essays and resume;
Review and correct errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation for undergraduate, transfer, and graduate essays;
Provide constructive feedback to improve the content, structure, tone, and authenticity of student essays;
Ensure all written components meet the guidelines and character or word limits set by application platforms like the Common App, Coalition App, and school-specific portals;
Coordinate with other team members to ensure a smooth review process and uphold high standards of service;
Act as a liaison between students and consultants to provide regular updates, answer questions, and manage expectations;
Manage the essay sheet by keeping the dates and statuses of essays updated;
Consistently meet with students to adhere to deadlines;
Attend essay meetings with Lead Editors;
Attend team meetings to discuss strategies for supporting students and enhancing the editing process;
Send recap messages to students after each meeting and assign homework as needed, ensuring deadlines are met;
Follow up with students for pending homework, scheduling meetings, and sending any relevant information

Required
Bachelor’s Degree: Preferably in English, Communications, Education, Journalism, or a related field;
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in editing, preferably with a focus on academic or admissions writing or within an educational consulting environment.
Mastery of grammar, syntax, and the ability to write and edit clearly, concisely, and compellingly;
Familiarity with the requirements, expectations, and trends in undergraduate, graduate, and transfer admissions;
Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and clients simultaneously;
Experience working with clients (students and parents), offering guidance, feedback, and support in a clear, professional manner;
Strong ability to provide feedback that improves the quality of essays while maintaining sensitivity to clients’ ideas and voice;
Ability to analyze and evaluate essay prompts and application requirements for a variety of schools and programs;
Familiarity with Google Docs, Excel, WhatsApp, and any project management or customer relationship management (CRM) tools;
Resourceful in addressing client-specific challenges or unique application essay prompts;
A genuine interest in helping students succeed in their academic journey
