Responsibilities

Develop and execute the overall strategy for The Student Scoop newsletter, including content, growth, and monetization plans
Lead the editorial direction and ensure consistent high-quality content delivery
Build and manage relationships with potential advertisers, sponsors, and strategic partners
Create and implement subscriber growth strategies
Oversee the newsletter's daily operations and coordinate with team members
Establish metrics and KPIs for measuring newsletter success
Identify and pursue revenue opportunities through advertising, sponsorships, and premium offerings
Develop and maintain the newsletter's brand voice and editorial standards
Train and mentor team members in newsletter operations and best practices
Represent The Student Scoop at relevant industry events and student gatherings

Required

Passionate about education and student empowerment
Experience in digital media, publishing, or newsletter operations
Strong understanding of email marketing and audience growth strategies
Excellent writing and editing skills with attention to detail
Leadership experience with the ability to guide and motivate team members
Data-driven mindset with experience in analytics and performance optimization
Strategic thinking ability with focus on both growth and monetization
Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders
Experience in content strategy and editorial planning
Understanding of the higher education landscape and student needs

Preferred

Previous experience growing an email newsletter or digital media property
Knowledge of email marketing platforms and tools
Understanding of advertising and sponsorship models
Experience with content monetization strategies
Familiarity with education technology or student services
