Responsibilities
Responsible for providing technical engineering information and assistance to company management to ensure compliance with the project requirements, engineering standards, applicable codes, and specifications.
Lead design position overseeing project design including plan sheet creation, design calculations, and authoring of specifications.
Design skills, you supervise the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with city, state, and county officials, and other outside agencies.
Provide leadership for projects and provide support to junior staff as well as field oversight of construction and electrical commissioning activities.
Prepare designs, check, and specify power, lighting and auxiliary systems and power system single line diagrams, to include feeder and over current protection sizing, equipment elevations.
Conduct, or oversee, short circuit and over-current protection device coordination studies, Arc Flash mitigation studies, and distribution analysis including voltage drop, voltage droop, and underground heat effect (Neher-McGrath) calculations.
Responsible for the technical quality, accuracy, and managerial aspects of projects.
Effectively document commissioning procedures, assumptions, and results.
Prepare clear and concise deliverables including developing requests for additional services; to provide preliminary information needed to develop a competitive bid; and to coordinate the design criteria for budgetary issues.
Communicate professionally the progress with the team, client, architect, and contractor.
Technical background, and strong knowledge of electrical systems including lighting, fire alarm, power distribution, for various institutional, medical, laboratory, commercial, and public buildings such as healthcare, biotech, higher education, office, and large mixed-use residential buildings and hotels.

Required
Minimum of 2-5 years of work experience in consulting or A/E design
Technical background, and strong knowledge of electrical systems including lighting, fire alarm, power distribution, for various institutional, medical, laboratory, commercial, and public buildings such as healthcare, biotech, higher education, office, and large mixed-use residential buildings and hotels
Code acumen and conflict resolution
Computer skills: AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, Microsoft Office, including advanced skills with Excel and Word
Willingness to travel locally and nationally up to 30-40% of the time
Ability to climb ladders/stairs and carry objects (50 lbs. occasionally, 20 lbs. frequently)
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
Associate degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial design and drafting
Professional Engineering license with an electrical emphasis
EIT candidate with electrical emphasis
Relevant professional certifications including Cx accreditation; LEED accreditation; OSHA 30 accreditation; or licensure in multiple states
Project management experience
Working knowledge of the energy efficiency requirements to include the Title 24 requirements, LEED Requirements and ANSI 90.1
