Responsibilities

The Electro-Mechanical Test (EMT) Specialist main responsibilities include setting up test apparatus, instrumentation, data acquisition systems and analyzing test results or interpreting engineering specification during postprocessing to assess operational capabilities of power generating equipment.
Additional responsibilities may include installing, servicing associated generator health monitoring equipment and attending internal or external customer meetings to review results.

Required

An Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from an accredited university or college with a minimum 4 years of experience in an electrical aptitude or equivalent vocational training in an electrical or mechanical inspection technology.
A minimum of 2 year’s field service experience in the installation/maintenance of generator monitoring equipment which may include partial discharge sensors, shorted turn monitoring equipment, thermocouple/thermal sensors, rotor shaft voltage sensors, vibration measuring components and associated data acquisition systems.
Gas/Steam Turbine and Generator knowledge or operating and maintenance experience.
Valid US driver’s license
Be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

Preferred

Aggressive self-starter with the ability to complete tasks and prioritize work based on business needs with little or no direct supervision.
Ability to set up and execute tests independently or as part of a team and perform preliminary data reduction and summarize and visualize results in native data acquisition software.
Prepare test results summaries and participate in formal and informal reviews of the test data with internal or external customers.
Drive safety, quality, and technical excellence.
Computer competency with Microsoft environment. (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.)
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to document, plan, and execute projects.
