Responsibilities

Drive the design, development, and operation of key embedded software capabilities for each satellite from launch to de-orbit.

Own unique embedded software functions through design, implementation, test, and integration in an embedded Linux or real-time operating system environment.

Write software to interact with devices/electronics using I2C, SPI, CAN, UART, etc.

Collaborate closely with hardware teams to support board design, bring-up, verification, integration, and test.

Follow best practices in high reliability embedded software development to ensure satellite security and reliability.

Required

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Experience programming with at least one software programming language

3+ years of embedded firmware development experience

Preferred

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Work experience in consumer electronics, robotics, aerospace, automotive, communications fields, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and/or embedded microcontrollers (ARM, PIC, etc.) in a production environment
