Responsibilities
You will define requirements, supports research and development, and conducts evaluation of military Positioning Navigation and Timing (PNT) equipment, including GPS Anti-Jam antenna systems.
You will conduct systems engineering, development, integration, and evaluation of PNT equipment into host systems and platforms.
You will be expected to work well in a laboratory team environment and perform GPS/Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) related work to include delivery of assured positioning, velocity and timing solutions for force location, navigation, etc.
You will generate and review IPT products that include: technical studies and reports, requirement and design documents, test procedures and reports, and project status reports and briefs.
You will perform analysis of GNSS technology gaps and lead IPT team members in the development of proposals to investigate innovative solutions.

This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band ND-03 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conduct research and evaluation of navigation systems and/or Global Position Systems (GPS) in order to meet navy requirements.
Applicants must possess a degree in Engineering.
The program must lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET.
The program must include differential and integral calculus and courses in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials; (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials; (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics.
Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering.
Professional registration or licensure -- Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE).
Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional registration.
Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences.
Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering.
