Responsibilities
Design, draft, and produce construction documents for utility, roadway, marine, and other horizontal projects
Perform duties related to design, construction inspection, and project management of Town projects
Conduct research and analysis, document existing conditions, assist in surveying, and produce AutoCAD documentation
Assist staff with drafting functions and perform other related work as required

Required
Formal education/degree in AutoCAD design, Engineering, GIS, or a related field preferred, with a Bachelor’s Degree the most desirable
Over seven years of work experience designing horizontal projects using AutoCAD
Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D AutoCAD
Knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering and of the materials, methods and techniques of public works construction
Knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations governing construction, wastewater and water treatment and conveyance, and water quality
Technical knowledge and experience in design, construction and inspection problems commonly encountered in municipal engineering activities
Proven ability to design large-scale complex projects
Ability to interpret and follow engineering and architectural plans
Demonstrated ability to inspect construction projects and collect measurements from the field
Ability to deal appropriately and effectively with contractors and a large variety of people
Highly skilled in the use of computers including word processing, spreadsheets, database, PowerPoint, CAD, and engineering design software
Team oriented attitude
Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in AutoCAD design, Engineering, GIS, or a related field
Class D driver’s license
