Responsibilities

Lead a team at Voltron Data building, optimizing, and maintaining the data execution framework.

Add new features, improve speed, scalability, and contribute to new core architectural components for the engine to run at Petabyte scale.

Spend time learning about Apache Arrow, query parser, memory management, and software development culture at Voltron Data.

Profiling single node and distributed queries executions, analyzing engine telemetry, and diving deep into distributed relational algebra algorithms.

Transition into a leadership role, leading projects and working on core architecture improvements to the engine.

Manage team tasks and projects, provide mentorship, technical guidance, and communicate project statuses to upper management.

Propose and implement core architecture improvements, work on challenging tasks, and integrate the engine with other components developed by other teams.

Required

Experience with data processing engines or frameworks

Experience in distributed and multi-threaded systems

Experience in HW resource management including memory and thread pools

Working with SQL and non-SQL systems and their computational abstractions

Developing in C++, especially using modern C++

Developing for multiple types of hardware (i.e. CPU, GPU)

Experience leading and managing a software development team
