Responsibilities

Build and operate services and system integrations for scanning, tracking, and reporting vulnerabilities to Coinbase developers.

Partner with engineering leaders on initiatives to enhance the safety of Coinbase infrastructure and development platforms.

Coach direct reports to positively impact the organization and establish a fulfilling career path.

Collaborate with engineers, managers, and program managers to translate vision into a tangible quarterly roadmap.

Provide technical guidance and support to the team in making architectural and operational decisions.

Work with the talent organization to recruit exceptional engineers who align with Coinbase's culture and product.

Required

At least 7 years of experience in software engineering.

At least 2 years of experience in security engineering, security architecture, or application security.

At least 2 years of engineering management experience.

You possess a strong understanding of what constitutes high-quality code and effective software engineering processes, creating an environment that fosters these principles.

An execution-focused mindset, capable of navigating through ambiguity and delivering results.

An ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with short-term planning.

Experience in creating, delivering, and operating distributed systems at scale.

You can be hands-on when needed – whether that’s writing/reviewing code or technical documents, participating in on-call rotations and leading incidents, or triaging/troubleshooting bugs.

Your passion for building an open financial system that brings the world together drives you to excel in this role.

Preferred

You have designed, built, scaled and maintained production services and integrations for vulnerability risk reduction, including scanners, issue management platforms, and/or secure CI/CD infrastructure.

You have worked with Golang, Docker, and AWS or GCP.
