Responsibilities

You will have an opportunity to work with peers across the company in Office, Azure, Microsoft365, and Research.

You will guide a team of engineers, mentoring them through this journey and providing technical and architectural leadership as we evolve our scalable, distributed service.

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

4+ years people management experience.

Preferred

Experience with developing large high-performance high-scale high-reliability high-availability, high-durability services, with service-oriented development and cloud-based systems.

Solid technical abilities, problem solving, design, rapid prototyping, coding and debugging skills including experience creating strategies and approach that deliver industry leading availability, reliability, durability and performance on moderately reliable hardware and software stacks.

Demonstrated commitment to the success of others, as a leader in the team you will be expected to mentor and manage junior developers.

Good communication skills and a track record of cross-group/cross-discipline collaboration.

Quick learner who thrives in an ambiguous environment.

Team player with a positive attitude.

Excellent collaboration skills and ability to be adaptable and agile in development.

Demonstrated experience as a technical lead or people manager.
