Environmental Engineer (Remediation)

Responsibilities
Lead and complete technical tasks for remediation projects from concept development to construction and operation.
Manage subcontractors, estimate costs, and oversee project scope, schedule, and budget.
Write technical reports, interact with project staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
Assist in proposal development, attend networking events, and contribute to staff development.
Identify areas for technical improvement, mentor junior staff, and lead by example in field and writing skills.

Required
5-10 years of professional experience with an environmental/engineering consulting firm.
Technical experience with in-situ and ex-situ treatment system design, cost estimating, local/state/federal permitting, and design and implementation of site remediation programs, including feasibility evaluations, remedy selection, and optimization.
Demonstrated experience with scoping, budgeting, and implementation of remediation programs.
Experience with management of remediation contractors.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program. Master’s degree desirable.
A strong appreciation of and commitment to safe work practices is mandatory.
A desire and drive to deliver innovative and effective services and to grow professionally and personally in an employee-focused, supportive work environment.
Ability to work independently and on large multi-disciplinary teams.
Ability to mentor staff and develop a project team.
Excellent organizational, technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, stormwater models, Python/R, contaminant modeling software, and/or database software is preferred.
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER and 10-hour OSHA Construction training.
Willingness to travel – up to 25% average to local client sites in New England Area
Preferred
A Professional Engineering license (PE) is desirable.
Geographic differentials are used to recognize and reflect cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
