Responsibilities

Act as a leader on the team, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to fellow team members.

Diagnostics, prompt repair, and ongoing maintenance of more complex material handling equipment issues.

Read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.

Communicate effectively with other employees, supervisors/managers, customers, and outside contractors.

High School Diploma/GED and/or equivalent related experience

Certified Material Handling Engineer Mechanic

ASE Certification

2+ years of on-the-job experience with electronics and mechanical equipment

Machining and fabrication experience

Excellent mechanical and electrical aptitudes, knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and hydraulics, and the ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics

Oral and written communication skills to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. It is also required for writing routine reports and correspondence

Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Clearly communicate with other employees and build relationships with employees, supervisors/managers, customers, as well as outside contractors

Ability to work well independently

Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently

Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation

Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures

Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment

Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work related equipment

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
