Responsibilities

Responsible for management of the implementation, upgrades, support and exploration of new technologies for enterprise business and administrative technology solutions that support the missions of the university and health system.
Works with central business leaders, university and/or JHM leadership or senior IT leadership to deliver business and administrative solutions in support of organizational operations.
Participates in strategic planning and tactical execution of enterprise technology initiatives; facilitate communications between entities within the Johns Hopkins Institutions as they relate to the use of technologies to support business and administrative functions; coordinate the work of teams of IT and non-IT professionals; and represent the university and health system in constituent and industry groups.
Executes project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on-time and within budget, adhere to high quality standards, and delight the customer.
Responsible for project plans, team and work assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review, and escalating functional, quality and timeline issues appropriately. Project resources may be drawn from shared pools within and outside the central IT organization; coordination of resources may be required with other managers.
Dual responsibility for delivery management (implementation, upgrade, support) and practice management (functional, technical).
Builds and maintains strong, trusted customer and vendor relationships.
Leads projects of varying complexity, which may include those requiring multi-disciplinary coordination and significant vendor collaboration.
Works with JH business owners, consultants/contractors, users in identification, evaluation, review and where applicable, modification of current business processes as required for optimal system implementation.
Provides input and recommendations to and/or formulates plans. Takes direction from leadership to implement those plans for the success of the EBS, IT and/or business owner.
With an awareness of organization’s needs as well as the larger technology landscape of the institution implements technology solutions that meet departmental/organizational needs.
Helps establish budgetary goals, and provides input towards priorities.
Participates in the establishment of technology policies and practices and implements them to ensure security and regulatory compliance.
Follows project management methodologies as prescribed by departmental leadership.
Represents organizational IT, academic or administrative leadership, in meetings related to IT policies and procedures across the institution.
Manages the customer relationship and satisfaction as well as adherence to service level agreements.
Creates and promotes a culture of excellent customer service.
Maintains relationships with leadership, business owners and end users to better understand their needs and address organizational goals.
Establishes and maintains ties with colleagues throughout the institution to ensure optimal collaboration and coordination of effort.
Maintains relationships with technology vendors for the department and/or JH business owners.
Within functional scope has direct responsibility for the design, development, and application of technical solutions that satisfy customer needs and are essential to the ongoing operations of the JH business owner or IT function.
Is responsible for multiple IT projects that impact the business owner or IT function, including requirements gathering, planning, delegation of component tasks to team members and monitoring progress toward completion.
Ensure that business solutions are implemented in accordance with business objectives and meet or exceed expectations.
Recruits, develops, retains, organizes, trains, mentors and manages performance of staff.
Assigns tasks, monitors progress and provides guidance.

Required

Bachelor’s Degree.
Ten plus years broad experience in a senior level position with a combination in IT and business best practices.
High level knowledge of current business technologies.
Track record of collaboration with peers, colleagues and lower-level staff.
Proven ability to prioritize work and ensure projects and workloads are completed on time while maintaining high morale.
Ability to prioritize conflicting demands.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Politically aware and able to maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
Strong project management and leadership skills.

Preferred

Applicants must possess proven written, verbal and interpersonal skills and must be able to exercise judgment with minimal supervision.
Must have advanced experience with the range of supported technologies.
Project management experience is desirable.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
