Responsibilities
Prepare estimates on new projects and estimate prices on change orders on existing contracts.
Read and interpret job bid instructions. Evaluate all contract documents including all bid drawings, specifications, general conditions, and if necessary, the project site.
Quantify the number of shop and detailing hours to fabricate structural steel and miscellaneous metals.
Determine the scope of work for our trade and identify vague areas to qualify bids. Develop a comprehensive, detailed proposal for the project estimated.
Post bid negotiations with clients and staff to determine final scopes of work and assign values to items that may be revised or deleted.
Oversee and review milestones of the project through bid, detailing, purchasing, fabrication, and shipment.
Keep logs up to date, meet or beat budget, stay on schedule, and keep to your scope.
