Responsibilities

Identify and pursue new business aligned with growth goals, fostering client and partner relationships to drive revenue.
Lead and develop YoungMD Connect and Optometry Meetings, enhancing BMC’s presence and impact in the optometric space.
Provide strategic direction to sales teams, aligning them with business objectives and sales targets.
Driving sales directly with key clients and developing strategic project ideas.
Oversee major contract negotiations and optimize client engagement across multiple product lines to maximize revenue.
Track and enhance OD channel metrics, ensuring program renewals and implementing improvements as needed.
Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market data to inform business strategies.
Develop actionable strategies based on market insights to strengthen BMC’s competitive position.
Mentor cross-functional team members, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate across business units (e.g., Anterior, Retina, Avenue Live) to ensure an aligned client experience and maximize cross-business opportunities.
Create and implement publishing strategies that align with business goals and audience needs.
Oversee content distribution across print, digital, and emerging channels to drive engagement and revenue.
Partner with editorial teams to ensure content relevance, quality, and adherence to commercial/editorial separation.

Required

Bachelor's degree in a related field; master’s degree in business administration preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in business development, sales management, and publishing.
Proven track record of driving revenue growth and successful business development strategies.
Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide diverse teams.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize market data into actionable insights.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships.
Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to translate insights into effective business strategies.
Proficiency in business development tools, sales management software, and content management systems.

Preferred

Background in ophthalmology or optometry industry roles in marketing, sales, business development.
