Responsibilities
Represents and speaks accurately on behalf of the State Board of Education to various stakeholders.
Models collaboration between departments to align Teaching & Learning with Operational Education Departments.
Develops policies, programs, and procedures to enhance instructional services to school districts.
Serves as a liaison for records management and coordinates job-embedded professional development.
Works on developing grants, contracts, and budgets to support teacher recruitment efforts.
Creates a five-year plan to close the achievement gap for specific student groups.
Develops leadership development opportunities and pathways for staff.
Collaborates with various departments to enhance professional development for vulnerable student groups.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required
Master's degree or higher. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION)
Three to five years of administrative/supervisory/leadership experience.
Experience with managing district or state professional development initiatives either in a district or state department of education.
Strategic thinker.
Able decision maker.
Leadership development skills.
Ability to think creatively.
Ability to oversee projects to completion and accountability for those completing them.
Systems thinker.
Ability to communicate and articulate clearly.
High integrity.
Familiarity with current trends in P-12 education.
Ability to motivate and lead others.
Preferred
Doctorate.
Multiple years of successful experience as a building principal, and/or central office administrator (Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent, and/or Regional Superintendent of Schools).
