Responsibilities
Make initial contact with new clients for business development purposes
Collaborate with clients to develop new project scopes
Generate steel take offs from owner supplied design documents
Work with vendors for competitive pricing and purchasing
Prepare estimates and submit proposals directly to clients
Develop conceptual fabrication estimates for design build projects
Work closely with operations to optimize shop staff and fabrication means and methods
Coordinate and manage detailing, submittals and project documentation
Communicate and schedule with field operations and installation project managers
Maintain client relations as needed for repeat business

Required
A four-year degree in engineering or construction management is preferred
10 years of experience as an estimator and/or project manager in the industrial fabrication sector
Must be familiar with AWS D1.1 welding code and AISC Standards
Vast knowledge of local area and clientele
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required
Knowledge of AutoCAD
Knowledge of both OSHA and MSHA safety regulations
Ability to review detailed shop drawings for conflicts, constructability, and conformance to contract documents
Ability to pass DOT pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening
Preferred
Experience with industrial related plate fabrications, weldments, structural steel, and miscellaneous metals
Knowledge or previous background with steel detailing is a plus
