Responsibilities

Design and implement repairs and/or modifications to existing facility and plant equipment.
Develop facility plans, layouts, and drawings for renovations and new construction projects as well as new equipment installations and commissioning.
Coordinate project work with maintenance, engineering, and production departments to ensure that work is completed within budget, on schedule and with minimal production downtime. Develop work scope documents, solicit bids, and select contractors as needed to complete work. Serve as project manager during implementation. Ensure that all contractors working on site follow Kenworth safety requirements.
Identify opportunities to upgrade or enhance factory equipment or automation systems to improve reliability, reduce cost or improve efficiency. Generate project cost and savings estimates for budgeting. Assist with development of capital project proposals. Execute approved, assigned projects.
Coordinate and develop work scopes for outside maintenance and contractor services for work including but not limited to mechanical services, HVAC, landscaping, fire protection, roofing, concrete/paving, and structural. Solicit bids, negotiate service contracts, and supervise implementation. Ensure that all service contractors working on site follow Kenworth safety requirements.
Assist maintenance technicians, process engineers and production personnel with troubleshooting factory equipment and control systems, including building management systems, lighting control systems, VFD’s and PLC’s, and other manufacturing control systems.
Ensure that work is completed in conformance with Kenworth and PACCAR policies and procedures as well as in compliance with applicable NEC, NFPA, Building and Energy codes.
Provide fill-in maintenance supervision support as needed.

Required

A 4-year engineering degree is required.
At least 5 years or more related experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
The ability to manage multiple projects with the flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and job requirements.
A working knowledge of building, electrical, mechanical, and industrial life safety codes and requirements.

Preferred

Experience with maintenance and testing of medium voltage electrical equipment is preferred but not required.
Hands-on experience with industrial controls equipment, automation software, Ignition SCADA, and PLC programming is preferred but not required.
