Responsibilities

Supporting QIAGEN’s Digital PCR instruments and chemistries in the field
Instrument installations
Customer training
On-site troubleshooting
Demonstrations
Evaluations
Other pre- and post-sale technical support in the assigned territory

Required

Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or equivalent.
Extensive practical/lab experience, and/or 3-5 years in technical sales or field-based customer support functions.
2+ years of direct digital PCR experience.
Comprehensive technical knowledge and understanding of molecular biology, including DNA/RNA purification, PCR, cloning, and sequencing.
Deep knowledge of wet lab molecular biology and genomics workflows is a must.
Excellent communication skills and commitment to delight customers.
Must be able to work within a matrixed environment.

Preferred

PhD in molecular biology or a related field highly desirable.
Prior Field Application Specialist/Scientist experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
qPCR assay design experience and/or Digital PCR assay design experience highly desirable.
Technical training experience highly desirable.
Experience with CRM software (particularly Salesforce.com) highly desirable.
