Responsibilities

Works with Financial Analysts to identify and analyze grant and fiscal areas, which may require support.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Monitor the department's financial status through analysis of accounts and financial reports and convey to the Director of Finance on an as needed basis.
Prepare a quarterly financial summary to include current and projected departmental expenses.
Maintain a file on each awarded grant account which includes copies of applications award notices, NYU budget allocations and other related administrative material.
Maintain a fiscal calendar of upcoming deadlines and pending applications.
Meet quarterly with the Principal Investigators regarding grant account status and provides analysis.
Coordinate with the Director of Finance and act as liaison to the granting agencies and NYU Grants Office on non-scientific matters.
Investigate and initiate information to all departmental Principal Investigators of potential funding opportunities.
In conjunction with the Dept. Administrator and Director of Finance, prepares departmental budget based on estimated revenue both clinically and for research.
Prepares comparative analyses of departmental accounts for both the school and research, for all costs. Submits reports to the Administrator and Director of Finance for review and suggests revisions.
Prepares analyses of trends of research spending and makes appropriate recommendations.

Required

Bachelors degree and minimum 3 years relevant work experience or an equivalent combination.
Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
Possess strong customer service and problem-solving skill sets
Knowledgeable of accrual basis of accounting.

Preferred

Masters degree with a major in a related discipline; three years experience in administrative analysis in an academic or medical setting.
