Responsibilities

Determine, develop and organize data required for assignments.
Perform required data entry, calculations, estimates, reconciliations, etc. consistent with assignment parameters.
Prepare reports including charts, graphs, schedules, etc. that effectively present assignment results.
Provide explanations of methodology employed as required.
Remain current on financial reporting requirements, applicable regulations, processes, etc.
May provide work direction to lower level financial personnel.
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Familiarity with applicable state and federal laws and regulations regarding commercial contracts
Three to four years of job related experience
Knowledge of the application of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
Financial analysis and forecasting techniques
Use of specialized financial/accounting related software
Communications and presentation skills
Use of business and financial related computer applications

Preferred

Familiarity with applicable state and federal laws and regulations regarding commercial contracts
Compile and analyze financial data to support lab leadership with monthly financial reports that require pulling data from multiple sources, analyzing data, and providing projections for the lab’s awards, hiring, timesheet exceptions and other metrics.
Support timekeeping submission processes for lab personnel and general government contractor timesheet compliance processes
Maintain project accounts and complete journal entries and adjustments in GTRI’s Costpoint System and Workday
Conduct compliance review and approval of financial transactions associated with procurement, PCard, invoicing, and travel activities in accordance with federal, state, Institute and unit regulations and policies. Review supporting documentation for compliance and work with employees to resolve issues and provide procedural guidance
Assist researchers with preparing budgets for research proposals and cost-to-complete spend plans
