Responsibilities

Review the J.C. Flowers Foundation’s current methods and strategies for ensuring financial accountability of its grantee partners.

Propose any necessary adjustments to ensure strong financial accountability and oversight.

Propose any necessary adjustments to ensure that reporting requirements are reasonable and clear.

Provide suggestions regarding ways in which Jan-Dec financial reports required by the U.S. government can be compiled easily from grantee partner monthly or quarterly reports.

A list of recommendations on improved methods and strategies for ensuring financial accountability of its grantee partners.

A list of suggested adjustments to J.C. Flowers Foundation’s financial reporting requirements for its grantee partners

A checklist that the J.C. Flowers Foundation can use to verify the elements necessary for financial accountability and oversight of its grantee partners, from start to finish (time of grant signature through close).

A checklist for Foundation employees (non-accountants) to facilitate the easy and comprehensive review of financial reports received from grantee partners.

A list of recommendations on improved methods and strategies for compiling Jan – Dec financial reports for U.S. tax purposes.

Assess current reports produced by each grantee partner and determine whether current financial reports and ancillary documents that are being received by the Foundation meet financial accountability standards.

Support the Foundation in identifying the specific reports (trial balances, general ledgers, etc.) that grantee partners should produce to meet reporting requirements.

A final checklist that can be provided to each grantee partner that communicates financial reporting requirements

A list of required documentation and reports (in Pastel or QuickBooks – depending on partners’ context)

A list of specific recommendations on financial reporting for each partner.
