Responsibilities
Assist in providing services concerning fire code interpretation, enforcement, and fire hazard/protection analysis.
Perform detailed reviews of design and shop drawings as a fire protection engineer.
Evaluate work for compliance with federal accessibility, building, and fire codes.
Manage fire prevention programs for WHS serviced organizations and tenants.

Required
Degree in Engineering with courses in specific areas of engineering science or physics
U.S. Citizenship
Professional registration or licensure as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE)
Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional registration by an engineering licensure board
At least 60 semester hours of courses in physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level for GS-11 qualification
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level for GS-12 qualification
Ability to review and inspect fire protection systems, apply codes and standards, and assist with engineering calculations, cost estimates, project documents, reports, and designs
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
