Responsibilities

Lead growth and business development for the Fire Protection Division of the Company. You are expected to continue the profitability of this Division and develop steady year-over-year growth.
Develop and manage new engineering and design clients and maintain existing clients.
Develop proposals for specific opportunities, lead negotiations, and close contracts, with support from other senior leaders in the Company.
Manage projects, including managing company resources and setting client expectations.
Oversee preparation of client deliverables, perform quality control checks on work product, and manage project schedules.
Manage and mentor the fire protection engineering staff.
Assist Company leadership with recruiting new staff to support your division’s business growth.
Perform field investigations at existing industrial, manufacturing, and commercial facilities.
Perform code analyses and develop reports.
Perform hazardous materials reviews, chemical classifications, review client requirements, and implement applicable codes on design solutions.
Prepare reports containing analysis results and recommendations
Present findings and recommendations to client stakeholders
Develop fire protection systems designs, prepare preliminary calculations, and prepare Basis of Design reports.
Present design solutions to clients and agency officials.
Collaborate with design and construction project teams to develop cost-effective solutions.
Develop conceptual fire protection systems design documents, including conceptual drawings and performance specifications.
Prepare request for proposals, review contractor bids and make recommendation for award.
Perform site visits and prepare construction observation reports during construction.
Review contractor submittals, respond to RFIs, and review contractor close-out documents.
Provide input and recommendations for improving Company processes, procedures and service delivery.
Represent the Company reputation and brand by conducting oneself with the utmost professionalism and integrity in all job duties.
Develop sales leads, perform marketing and draft proposals.

Required

BS Degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
A minimum of 10+ years of fire protection engineering and design experience, with increasing responsibilities working under the direction of a registered fire protection engineer.
Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
Experience must include direct work on construction projects.
Design team management and/or project management experience in the construction industry.
Self-motivated and organized with good time management skills; strong verbal and written communication skills; cooperative, yet assertive; self-disciplined.
Strong track record of leading projects within scope, time and budget constraints.

Preferred

Experience with hydraulic calculation software, fire modeling software, or cost-estimating tools is a plus.
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or other design software is a plus.
Previous Sales Experience and/or existing leads strongly desired.
