Responsibilities

Architect and build scalable full-stack web applications.

Work closely with the founding team to align technical solutions with business objectives.

Develop and maintain code across the stack, including frontend interfaces and backend services.

Ensure high performance and responsiveness of applications.

Lead code reviews and drive best practices across the engineering team.

Integrate third-party APIs and services as needed.

Mentor and share knowledge with other engineers as the team grows

Required

5+ years of experience in full-stack development - early stage startup experience (pre-series A) strongly preferred

BS/MS in Computer Science or related field

A strong technical background in software development, strongly preferred experience with the following tech stack: React, Typescript, Javascript, Node.JS, PostgreSQL, AWS

Proven experience with good software development principles around testing, CI, and DevOps/deployment strategies

Passionate about building high-quality, beautifully designed products and user experiences

Results-oriented, self-motivated individual with a proven track record in product building and engineering to help meet the company’s objectives and business targets.

Highly strategic with strong product and business acumen and critical thinking ability

Independent, highly motivated and comfortable working at a fast pace

A passion for Hue’s core mission and values

Preferred

Proven experience as a lead or founding engineer in a startup environment is highly desirable

Domain expertise in any of the following areas would be nice-to-have: Experience in data engineering (databases and data pipelines), Experience with building ML/AI recommender systems, Experience building high-scale video hosting and serving platforms, Experience building for / integrating with e-commerce platforms (eg. Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, etc)

Experience with analytics tools such as Mixpanel and Google Analytics
