Responsibilities
Build authentic and meaningful relationships centered on trust, honesty, and expertise.
Extract personal and business goals from clients and build strategic financial plans to achieve goals.
Communicate strategic financial plans through coaching that will close the gap between current and future desired state.
Leverage deep understanding of business fundamentals such as revenue generation, business operations, people development, and financial management to help clients deliver measurable and sustainable improvements to their business model.
Teach clients how to improve their accounting by calling back to your experience setting up roles and responsibilities within an accounting/finance departments, designing accounting systems, deploying ERP solutions, developing management reports, and/or building detailed accounting schedules such as revenue recognition, percentage complete/completed contracts, or work-in-progress.
Hyper-aware of business opportunities related to client capitalization. Understands how to identify capital needs and be comfortable coaching clients how to best fill the need. Intimately familiar with sourcing capital such as senior debt, working capital, equipment financing, acquisition-financing, SBA, or similar guaranteed debt products.
Lead 1-on-1 meetings with clients that leverage key information generated by financial reporting to convey insights and information that connects to helping clients achieve goals. Lean into industry-specific language and euphemisms to build affinity and rapport.
Prepare financial reports to lead discussions with clients that enable the client to make data-driven decisions weeks, months, and years in advance. Reporting includes cash flow models, financial statement projections, pricing models, break-even analysis, or similar financial reports.
Document progress on client scope in Company workflow management tools to ensure visibility, accountability, and Company processes are followed.
Participate in business development opportunities such as in-person and virtual networking, content creation, and maintaining an active social media presence.
Frequently leverage your vast business network and the network of the Company to solve unique client obstacles.

Required
A minimum of 7-10 years of executive-level experience in challenging business environments marked by aggressive growth, rigorous compliance, demanding creativity, and problem-solving.
At least 10 years of progressive/combined experience as an in-house accounting manager, controller, CFO, Fractional CFO, or similar business consultant.
Thrives in entrepreneurial environments, uncertainty, and ambiguity.
Is energized working within multiple industries at the same time and being flexible with pace of work.
Naturally self-preserving with high degree of risk tolerance.
Solution oriented perspective with a knack for problem-solving.
Excellent at building and maintaining trusted relationships.
Excels in preparing and delivering financial presentations.
Ability to understand and connect business operations to financial outcomes.
Significant experience creating and reviewing financial reports such as Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows, Disclosure Statements, and Business Tax Returns (Schedule C, 1120S/C, 1065).
Comfortable with financial modeling and analysis.
Loves Microsoft Excel and data manipulation.
Thorough experience with cloud-based accounting technology such as QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Expensify, LiveFlow G-Accon, Tableau, or other visualization tools.
Thorough experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite or similar module-based systems.
