Responsibilities

Write, review and maintain code written in modern TypeScript.

Build secure and efficient APIs to give customers automated access to their data.

Work with our data team to integrate new datasets and ML models into the Biobot data platform.

Build interactive visualizations to help customers better understand local and national wastewater data and trends.

Occasional DevOps work. We do not have a dedicated DevOps or SRE team, so engineers may have to help with infrastructure work.

Help establish development best practices and workflows that help other engineers be more efficient.

Required

Experience building robust and efficient backends

Working knowledge of at least a few technologies from the tech stack including: React, TypeScript, Visx/D3, Ant Design, React Query, Storybook, Node, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, dbt, Auth0, OpenAPI, Zod, GitLab CI, AWS SAM, AWS Lambda, Turborepo, esbuild

Strong backend focus

Some experience building data visualizations

Ability to write, review and maintain code written in modern TypeScript

Ability to build secure and efficient APIs to give customers automated access to their data

Ability to work with data team to integrate new datasets and ML models into the Biobot data platform

Ability to build interactive visualizations to help customers better understand local and national wastewater data and trends

Occasional DevOps work

Help establish development best practices and workflows that help other engineers be more efficient

Required standing or sitting for several hours straight at a time

Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone and video conferencing for several hours each day
