Responsibilities

Lead the implementation of Mars missions, including orbiters, rovers, landers, and/or technology programs.
Lead programs and projects on achieving NASA mission lifecycle requirements, as outlined in NASA Procedural Requirements (NPR) 7120.5F.
Lead international and/or interagency partnership activities.
Guide and direct space initiatives through successful concept development and strategic implementation.
Present Mars Exploration Program (MEP) information to NASA leadership, NASA Centers, and/or large public forums (e.g. conferences, science team meetings, etc).
Develop MEP project budgets in coordination with the project team, program office, and NASA HQ.
Foster a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence and innovation. Champion NASA's commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility to create an environment that promotes a commitment to safety, integrity, and teamwork.

Required

You must meet qualifications requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
This position may require a one-year probationary period.
Participating in the development or operations of engineering programs/projects related to Mars exploration.
Participating in the development of budgets for large, complex programs/projects.
Developing written materials for technical programs/projects related to the development of Mars missions and science initiatives.
Leading efforts for the development or operations of engineering programs/projects related to Mars exploration.
Developing budgets for large, complex programs/projects.
Coordinating international and/or interagency activities related to the development of Mars missions and science initiatives.
You must have successfully completed a bachelor's degree with a major in one of the following: Engineering from a college or university that has ABET accredited engineering programs, Physical Science, Mathematics, Life Science or other field of Science, Computer Science that included 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of course work in any combination of mathematics, statistics and computer science with at least half of those hours in mathematics and statistics courses that included differential and integral calculus.
