Responsibilities
Perform field assignments including observation of geotechnical explorations.
Oversee engineering services during construction on projects involving shallow and deep foundations, support of excavations and earthwork operations.
Prepare field boring/test pit logs on a variety of projects to document subsurface composition and groundwater level.
Prepare field reports and engineering calculation packages.
Prepare technical specifications, design drawings, and construction submittals for compliance with contract requirements and design assumptions.
Review and assist with assigning field and laboratory soil and material testing.
Communicate effectively with contractors, clients, and team members.
Lifting weights of up to 75 pounds for field density testing.
Observe and monitor various types of constructions including deep foundation installation, utility installation, subgrade preparation, backfill, pavement repair, and support of excavation installation.
Draft geotechnical reports and technical correspondences.

Required
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred or can obtain EIT certificate.
Valid driver’s license required.
Ability to maintain and operate personal and/or company vehicle.
Experience or academic training with geotechnical software such as APile, LPile, WEAP Slide, Settle3D, is preferred.
Soils laboratory experience is a plus.
Following certifications, a plus: Nuclear Density Gauge Operator; American Concrete Institute (ACI) Level I Inspector; and/or Related certifications from ICC
