Responsibilities

Providing technical assistance to government and embedded staff to assess surveillance systems, tools, and workflows for responses to identify priorities for implementation of collaborative surveillance
Supporting implementation by government and embedded staff for activities related to surveillance and epidemic intelligence including support for capacity building, prototyping, designing and implementing tools for informatics, analysis, decision-making, and effective communication, as well as capacity building on data analytics, data visualization, and geospatial methods
Innovative use of contextual (e.g., risk and vulnerability) data for risk analysis
Technical accompaniment and mentorship through in country visits and routine country calls
Consultative work on investigation and development of use cases for innovations in surveillance including wastewater surveillance, multiplex sero surveillance, genomic surveillance, and sample registration systems
Participation in a multidisciplinary data products task team that generates innovations in data presentation for decision-making, including situation reports, epidemiological bulletins, risk analyses, and disease briefs

Required

Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., public health, epidemiology, informatics, statistics) and at least 10 years’ related experience, or equivalent experience
Proven ability to work collaboratively with government leadership (Ministers of Health or Directors of National Public Health Institutes) on strategy development and alignment on commitments and timelines
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills for engaging and influencing non-governmental partners, civil society organizations, donors, and multilateral agencies
Experience with business process mapping or systems thinking approaches
