Responsibilities
Working on developing optimization models of DERs for providing both distribution and transmission grid services.
The ideal candidate should be able to conduct research work independently and also collaborate with the project PI and other team members.
Contributing and/or leading the writing of research papers

Required
Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
Undergraduate: Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a bachelor’s degree program from an accredited institution.
Post Undergraduate: Earned a bachelor’s degree within the past 12 months. Eligible for an internship period of up to one year.
Graduate: Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a master’s degree program from an accredited institution.
Post Graduate: Earned a master’s degree within the past 12 months. Eligible for an internship period of up to one year.
Graduate + PhD: Completed master’s degree and enrolled as PhD student from an accredited institution.
The successful candidate will be a current student in a PhD program in electrical engineering.
Familiar with power system operation, market participation, virtual power plant.
Familiar with T&D coordination.
Experience in distributed energy resource modeling, optimization, and control.
Experience in power system modeling and optimization.
Proficiency in programming language (e.g., Python, C/C++).
Proficiency in commercial/open-source optimization solvers and packages (e.g., GAMS, Gurobi, CPLEX).

Must meet educational requirements prior to employment start date.
Preferred
Strong track record in scientific publications.
The ideal candidate will be able to work onsite in Golden Colorado.
