Responsibilities

Assists in the design, layout, and preparation of information materials, including production of electronically published products for public information campaigns, conferences, and publications; in consultation with authors and other relevant staff, establishes graphic design requirements to meet communications objectives; prepares submission schedules for various communications products (e.g. logos, publications, booklets, brochures, banners, social media graphics, posters, newsletters, pamphlets, and other material).

In consultation with relevant staff/units, assists in the planning, design, production, and scheduling of graphic material; assists in providing technical support in electronic formats for the design, layout, and make-up of various communications products, using relevant computer operating systems, software, and platforms.

Participates in initial meetings with clients to discuss graphic design projects; gathers information for substantive content, communication objectives, technical specifications, and schedules/deadlines.; creates graphics develops multiple design proposals for review by clients, which may include photographic, illustrative, or graphic solutions; manipulates this material prior to preparation of final proofs.

Determines specifications for electronic and print products including document size, colors, etc.; provides support throughout the production process and ensure that projects are on schedule.

Assists in the development and maintenance of a storage and retrieval system for artwork and design files (e.g. design concepts, computer files, fonts, color specifications, photographs, and illustrations files, etc.).

Performs other related work as required.
