Responsibilities
Design Leadership: Lead and manage the graphic design team, ensuring all projects are completed on time and to the highest quality standards.
Creative Direction: Develop and implement creative concepts and visual designs for a variety of media, including print, digital, and multimedia.
Accessibility Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with Section 508 standards and related laws within the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, promoting accessibility and inclusivity in all visual content.
Project Management: Oversee multiple design projects simultaneously, managing timelines, resources, and client expectations.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including marketing, communications, and web development, to ensure cohesive and effective visual strategies.
Quality Assurance: Review and approve designs, graphics, and layouts, ensuring they meet the organization's standards and project requirements.
Training and Development: Mentor and train junior designers on best practices, design techniques, and accessibility standards.
Technology and Tools: Stay updated with the latest design tools, software, and trends to ensure the team’s skills and tools are current and effective.

Required
Minimum of five (5) years of graphic design experience.
Strong knowledge and experience with Section 508 standards and related laws within the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Strong understanding of visual design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
Preferred
Experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
Familiarity with the Veterans Benefits Administration.
Experience with additional design tools and software (e.g., Sketch, Figma).
Strong leadership, team-building, and motivational skills.
Transitioning military and/or Veterans with either IT/IS, finance, and/or healthcare systems specialties are invited to apply.
