Responsibilities

Understand the brand and target customer deeply to write engaging, emotionally compelling copy that resonates
Get to know what the core of our target customer values and cares about and grow the know, like and trust factor with the brand
Recommend content strategies and direct copy that will result in the ideal action such as as driving leads and converting sales
Bring ideas to the table for content-led initiatives and promotions
Repurpose existing content to be re-used across channels (ex. Newsletters, social media posts, podcast episodes, etc.) to maximize the impact of content creation
Help the founder with strategies for the ideal customer journey appropriate to the campaign including (but not limited to) lead generators > nurture sequences > landing pages > conversion event > conversion nurture > sale or downsell
Recommend ideas and effective messaging strategies for lead magnets, landing pages, email sequences, webinars, mid-cart communications, order bumps and downsells
Be versatile to write effectively for landing pages, email, social media, ads, presentations, podcasts, funnels and promotions
Understand the product and target customer deeply to write engaging, emotionally-compelling copy that resonates
Recommend messaging strategies and outlines for webinars or other live conversion events
Write masterclass presentation decks, freebies and other marketing materials, partnering with designers to create compelling marketing experiences
Always have an understanding of the purpose of each content piece and measure the effectiveness of your copy where applicable
Recommend messaging strategies for organic content activities surrounding the funnel such as social media posts, email newsletter and podcast episodes
Collaborate with designers and marketing team to ensure there is perfect harmony between the verbal and visual
Maintain high standards of copywriting, editing and proofing
Use analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of each stage in the funnel
Monitor and identify 'leaky buckets' and tweak copy in the funnel areas that are not performing to standard
Recommend smart areas to A/B test copy to maximize conversions
Share your opinions on adjustments to test on layouts to convert better
Ensure rest of team (ex. Designers, Social Media Managers, Podcast Producers, Video Editors, etc.) is delivering on time, implementing feedback and maintaining productivity and quality standards
Review content being developed by team & give feedback and strategic direction (ex. Content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Podcast)

Required

Proven track record in writing high-performing copy with case study examples
Results-driven mindset with a focus on key performance indicators
Appreciation for the relationship between copy and visual design
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven recommendations on copy adjustments
Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines without hand-holding
Ability to work collaboratively, take constructive feedback well and apply direction without losing your point of view
