Responsibilities

Responsible for full-cycle recruitment and collaborating with hiring managers to build the firm over the next few years.
Create a scalable and consistent recruitment and interviewing process that prioritizes efficiency, diversity, and applicant experience.
Oversee the whole onboarding experience to ensure new recruits feel welcomed and supported from day one, and offer an introduction to Clara's history and a comprehensive corporate overview.
Collaborate with recruiting managers and executives to develop consistent, effective training processes for new recruits in all operational areas.
As a trusted adviser, assist executives in designing organizational structures, layers, and reporting systems that promote scalable and coordinated development.
Lead activities to enhance organizational performance, such as team building, leadership development, and succession planning.
As a culture advocate, support employee engagement and morale in a remote setting.
Create and implement scalable continuous learning and development programs to upskill staff.
Create and execute listening and feedback systems (such as office hours, questionnaires, and focus groups) to identify and address employee needs.
Collaborate with executives to create and implement competitive salary and benefits packages.
Lead initiatives to align salary, awards, and recognition with the corporate goals.
Refine, enhance, and implement performance reviews, individual goal setting, and departmental objectives.
Oversee the daily HR responsibilities of onboarding, offboarding, employee data management, payroll support, benefits administration, and compliance.
Create and implement scalable HR rules, systems, and procedures for a completely remote workforce.
Oversee and verify the integrity and correctness of HR systems (e.g., HRIS) and documents (e.g., handbooks, policies).
Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations in numerous jurisdictions.
Provide HR assistance to leadership about employee relations, retention, and workforce planning.

Required

7+ years of HR expertise, including 3+ years of HR leadership in a high-growth organization. Preference for HR experience in a remote or hybrid organization.
Experience and comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic growth stage corporate environment.
Experience in recruitment, organizational design, training, pay, and performance management.
Capable of smoothly transitioning from tactical 'hands-on' execution to strategic planning.
Self-motivated individual who is thrilled to be the first member of our HR team. Comfortable working as an independent contributor, taking full responsibility for the HR department while setting the framework for future development.
Track record of demonstrated success in creating HR infrastructure and programs from the bottom up.
Passionate about creating an engaging, inclusive, and people-first corporate culture.
Tactful ability to engage with executives and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent attention to detail.
Proven ability to multitask.
Strong expertise and knowledge of HR systems (e.g., BambooHR), payroll systems (e.g., ADP), and other associated 'tech stack' (e.g., third-party 401k/benefit websites, etc.).
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and G Suite.
High integrity and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential material with care.
East Coast working hours (preferably located in NYC or Boston for the odd in-person meeting)
