Responsibilities

Conduct critical quality assurance analyses on health plan submitted data integrating various sources including performance measure results from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, claims and encounter data from Covered California’s Healthcare Evidence Initiative, and demographic data from the California Healthcare Eligibility, Enrollment, and Retention System.
Develop standardized intake methodology and monitoring systems to support timely health plan data submissions that impact major health plan accountability programs.
Evaluate and provide recommendations and program strategies to improve data gathering and procedures to structure the data in efficient and usable formats.

Please explain how your professional experience, accomplishments, and education have successfully prepared you for the Health Informatics Specialist role with Covered California. Include relevant experience with health care equity and quality improvement as well as working with health insurance plans.
Describe your experience with addressing data completeness issues and inconsistencies. Explain why this posed problems or challenges, and how you worked with the data to analyze and produce a meaningful resolution to address a particular policy or business question.
Describe your experience in documenting an analytical process, developing a data dictionary, or a similar task. What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Preferred

Ability to undertake multiple priorities/projects and execute each effectively.
Experience with data analytics, including data reporting, data investigation, dashboards.
Capacity to communicate compelling results of the analysis to decision-makers through data visualizations, writing, and presentations.
