Responsibilities

Manage Contract Workstreams: This Project Manager will be responsible for project managing multiple workstreams as part of a major contract in the Division of Instructional Materials and Implementation. To do this, the Project manager will ensure milestones are on track for completion and successfully serve as a resources of workflow status. The Project Manager will develop and manage project plans and coordinate vendors and internal staff to plan, implement, and complete tasks on time and within budget.
Create Tools and Processes: This Project Manager will create project management tools, e.g., Smartsheet plans, dashboards, invoice trackers, and filing structures. These tools are user-friendly, clearly delineate roles and responsibilities, improve operational processes, and serve as a source of knowledge.
Manager Vendors: The Project Manager will build relationships with vendor staff and work with vendor Project Managers to ensure that the vendor is accomplishing the work as planned and with high-quality. Project Managers ensure that workstream metrics are meeting performance targets, anticipate needs, and provide support. Project Managers are responsible for high vendor performance.

Required

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
Degree field(s): Social Sciences, Business Management, or a related field
At least six (6) years of experience in project management of contracts
Education and experience may substitute for one another on a year-for-year basis
Share the belief that all Texas students can achieve at high levels and are able to succeed in college, career, or the military
Certified Texas Contract Manager (CTCM) certification must be obtained within the first six (6) months of employment
Advanced project and vendor management skills, including planning, coordination, progress monitoring, issue resolution, and change management
Superior verbal and written communication skills to diverse audiences and design and delivery of effective presentations and other public-facing documents
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information to various audiences
Ability to communicate a complex message in a simplified way verbally, in writing, and by using slide decks
Ability to prioritize work, operate effectively with minimal supervision, take appropriate initiative, and exercise independent judgment
Prior experience using project management software and communication tools including Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint
Skill using Smartsheet project management tool
