Responsibilities
Conduct field investigations to identify potential groundwater sources
Develop models to simulate groundwater flow and predict aquifer behavior under different conditions
Use of modeling tools to evaluate water resource availability and potential impacts
Perform pump tests to measure hydraulic properties
Test data to characterize groundwater flow patterns
Evaluate the potential impacts of development, land use changes on groundwater resources
Develop medication plans for contaminated groundwater sites. Monitor remediation activities and access their effectiveness over time
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to groundwater management, water quality protection, and environmental permitting. Help prepare permit applications and environmental impact assessments as required
Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing findings from hydrogeological studies and investigations. Communicate results to clients and regulatory agencies in a clear and understandable manner
Manage hydrogeological projects from start to completions, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination of fieldwork and laboratory testing activities

Required
Bachelor's Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science or related degree AND a minimum of 7 years of hydrogeology experience
Groundwater principals to include assessments, monitoring, and modeling experience
Experience with Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) practice and landfill
Proficiency in hydrogeological modeling software (e.g., MODFLOW, FEFLOW, Aquaveo, and GIS tools)
Experience with field instrumentation and techniques for groundwater sampling and monitoring
Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes related to groundwater
Excellent writing, communication, strategic thinking, and “people” skills
Ability to travel between 25%-30% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on client needs, ranging up to a few days
