Responsibilities
• Be the technical leader of a team of engineers responsible for XR audio content creation tools and gaming audio production tools
• Establish product architecture for first-party 3-DoF content creation tools
• Collaborate with the XR and Audio Content Creation Business Tech Leads to understand, align and drive forward a coherent set of XR audio products and solutions
• Help balance engineering resources across multiple competing projects and priorities
• Establish a culture of excellence in software development standards and procedures for your immediate engineering team, and be an example and champion for this department-wide
• Partner with Dolby research groups to define future interactive Atmos formats and features
• Work closely with XR, Gaming, Content Creation and Content Delivery product managers to understand their products’ needs and influence component features and designs
• Mentor junior engineering staff
• Contribute to department-wide software-engineering excellence
• Partner with a QA leaders to ensure quality across XR, Gaming and related products
• Travel to Dolby facilities when necessary for critical meetings, internal/external demos and events
• Work directly with third-party interactive content creators to advocate Dolby’s products and formats, and to understand their needs
• Collaborate with other engineering leaders to build greater technology-organization cohesion, culture, and morale.

Required
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or another related technical field, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of hands-on experience with developing professional audio content creation tools and components.
Deep knowledge of spatial audio formats, technologies and algorithms.
10+ years of software engineering in C/C++.
Thorough understanding of embedded real-time audio product engineering requirements and techniques
Proven track record in leading and mentoring an engineering team.
A consistent history of innovation and creativity.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a globally distributed organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clarity of thought.
Preferred
Working knowledge of spatial audio rendering techniques and challenges
ML algorithm productization
Understanding of professional content creation workflows for Music and A/V content
