Responsibilities
Work independently and as part of the Information Security team to support the department's mission.
Manage cloud and on-premises information security technology systems and services.
Handle information security operations, incident response, audits, assessments, policy, and compliance.
Contribute to digital transformation and innovation at the California Department of Managed Health Care.

Required
Ability to effectively work from home (Telework) or in the downtown Sacramento office
Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship
Completion of an online examination
Possession of Minimum Qualifications verified prior to interview and/or appointment
Submission of high school transcripts or college/university transcript(s) if using education to meet minimum qualifications
Successful completion of a Background Investigation
Adherence to state telework policy and DMHC's telework policy
Maintaining a safe and distraction-free work environment at the approved alternate work location
Maintaining a dedicated workstation at a DMHC official worksite
Working in a climate-controlled office or cubicle under artificial lighting
Submission of required application package documents including State Examination/Employment Application, Resume, and Statement of Qualifications
Meeting the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification(s)
Preferred
Team leadership
Security project management/implementation
Ability to motivate, develop, and manage people in the performance of their work
Experience in Incident Response planning and coordination
Experience with writing and/or updating policies/procedures
Knowledge of secure coding practices, security hardening, network designs, implementation recommendations, and troubleshooting of cloud and on-premises architecture
Background in Risk Management, Audit and Compliance Management, Information Security Governance, Incident Management and Reporting, Policy Management, and Security Awareness, Education, and Training
In-depth working knowledge of Information Security practices
